Junior Athletes Code of Conduct
This code helps you understand what we expect from you as a junior athlete at HBAC, and helps you get the most from your athletics.
As a Junior Athlete, I Will:
- ✓Be friendly, helpful, and support other club members
- ✓Listen to my coaches and follow their instructions
- ✓Arrive on time for training with the right kit and equipment
- ✓Try my best and work hard at training
- ✓Show respect to everyone - athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators
- ✓Play fair and follow the rules
- ✓Be a good sport - congratulate winners and encourage others
- ✓Look after club equipment and facilities
- ✓Tell my coach or an adult if I'm injured or feeling unwell
- ✓Speak to a trusted adult if I'm worried about anything
- ✓Have fun and enjoy my athletics!
I Will NOT:
- ✗Bully, tease, or be mean to others
- ✗Use bad language or call people names
- ✗Cheat or try to break the rules
- ✗Argue with coaches, officials, or other athletes
- ✗Damage equipment or facilities
- ✗Leave training without telling my coach or parent
- ✗Use my phone during training sessions
At Competitions
When competing for HBYA:
- Wear club kit with pride
- Warm up properly before competing
- Try my hardest and do my best
- Accept the result, even if I don't win
- Shake hands with competitors after events
- Say thank you to officials and volunteers
- Be a good ambassador for HBAC
Staying Safe
Remember:
- • You should always feel safe at HBAC
- • Tell a coach or trusted adult if something worries you
- • You can say no if something makes you uncomfortable
- • It's never your fault if someone is unkind to you
- • We're here to help and support you

- • Talk to any trusted adult at the club
