Safety
Run safely in all conditions and environments
Featured Tips
Be Visible in the Dark
Wear reflective gear and a headtorch when running in low light. Assume drivers can't see you. Face oncoming traffic on roads without pavements so you can react to vehicles.
All Tips
Carry ID and Phone
Always carry identification and a charged phone. The ICE (In Case of Emergency) feature lets first responders contact someone if you're injured. Consider a Road ID bracelet.
Tell Someone Your Route
Let someone know where you're running and when you expect to be back, especially for longer or remote runs. Share your live location if running alone in isolated areas.
Adjust for Weather
In heat: run early morning, wear light colours, take water. In cold: layer up, cover extremities, warm up longer. In rain: wear a cap to keep rain off your face, avoid cotton.
Stay Aware of Your Surroundings
Keep music volume low or use bone conduction headphones. Stay alert at junctions and crossings. Make eye contact with drivers before crossing. Run against traffic on roads.
